About The Integrative Cardiologist
The Integrative Cardiologist is a free newsletter by Sameer Azhak, MD, FACC, a cardiologist who writes about preventing heart disease and making cardiovascular science useful in everyday life.
Here, we explore blood pressure, cholesterol, nutrition, inflammation, sleep, movement, and the tests that help clarify cardiovascular risk for conditions like heart attack, stroke, heart failure. We also explain coronary calcium scans, cardiac catheterization, coronary CT angiography, and blood tests such as apoB, Lp(a), and CRP. The aim is to explain what the evidence shows, where uncertainty remains, and which questions are worth bringing to your own clinician.
